Orienteering El Alamein

Terra Cielo Mare

$2,990.00

Revealed at Baselworld 2016, the new Terra Cielo Mare Orienteering watch is inspired by the second Battle of El Alamein and dedicated to the 132nd Ariete Armored Division. The small Italian division fought until the end, never surrendering even when eventual defeat was clearly inevitable. The watch honors the soldiers’ bravery and tenacity. It can withstand almost anything thrown its way: it has a scratch-resistant surface, is water-resistant up to 10 atmospheres and can handle extreme temperatures.

The new Orienteering El Alamein has the same technical features of the previous model. It doesn’t rely on magnetic or electronic compasses, instead using the orientation of the sun and the stars. The dial features a rotating bezel pointing to the North, while on the back the map of the night sky shows both the Northern and Southern poles.

A new sand-colored dial reminds of Egyptian dunes and also sets the new model apart from its predecessor. The watch is made by hand and it expertly brings together stylish Italian design and a high-quality Swiss mechanism. This numbered series is available with an English leather strap which is handcrafted in Italy, or with a military-inspired Cordura Lorica textile strap, in the Born version that is available by request.
