Born in California, Wesley Walters studied East Asian languages at UC-Berkley before moving to Japan. After completing a Master’s program at the Tama Art University in Tokyo, he moved to Helsinki to study at the prestigious Aalto University School of Arts, Design and Architecture. While there, he met Salla Luhtasela, with whom he co-founded the Kaksikko design studio. Inspired by both Finnish design and Japanese minimalism, Wesley Walters creates ceramic tableware and wooden furniture with an understated aesthetic. His latest work, created in a collaboration with Salla Luhtasela, has received the Muuto Talent Award and has been included in the permanent collection of renowned Finnish brand Nikari.
