Thomas Sandell

Designer

Acclaimed Swedish architect and designer Thomas Sandell was born in 1959. He graduated from the Royal Institute of Technology in Stockholm with a degree in architecture and engineering. Together with Ulf Sandberg and Joakim Uebel, he established the sandellsandberg firm in 1995. The studio completes an array of projects, from architecture and design to advertising. Thomas Sandell’s work includes designing the interiors of the Swedish Museum of Architecture and the Museum of Modern Art in Stockholm. He has also designed award-winning furniture for Swedish and international brands, including IKEA, Nikari, Artek, B&B Italia, and Cappellini, among others. Thomas Sandell has served as the chairman of Architects Sweden, previously known as the National Association of Swedish Architects.
