Hailing from Miami, Sam Bigio is an accomplished creative director and designer with a Master's degree in the History of Decorative Arts and Design, obtained through a joint program between the esteemed Parsons and the Cooper Hewitt, Smithsonian Design Museum. In 2018, he launched Monstruosus, a design studio focused on creating top-tier ceramic planters suitable for both indoor and outdoor environments. This initiative was inspired by Samuel's struggle to find minimalist, matte-glazed planters while serving as a style director for the distinguished furniture company, Herman Miller. Leveraging his background as a ceramics enthusiast, he set out to develop skillfully crafted planters that celebrate Mid-Century American modernism and simultaneously highlight the inherent charm of plants.
