Pauline Deltour

Designer

Pauline Deltour (1983 – 2021) was a French industrial designer who built her practice in Munich, turning out objects, furniture, and public furnishings noted for spare geometry and measured colour. Educated at Paris’s Olivier-de-Serres school and the École Nationale Supérieure des Arts Décoratifs, Deltour refined her method during three years alongside Konstantin Grcic before opening her own studio in 2009. Prototypes moved quickly from loose sketches to hands-on trials with local fabricators, often pairing anodised aluminium or stainless steel with pale timber and quiet tonal accents. Over the next decade she developed portable tableware for MUJI, bags for BREE, a Bluetooth speaker for Lexon that earned a Red Dot Design Award, and street furniture for the City of Munich, while maintaining long-running collaborations with Alessi and other manufacturers. Until her unexpected passing in 2021, Deltour divided time between the Munich workshop and regular trips to her native Brittany. The concise body of work she left behind remains in production worldwide, valued for its clear forms and material intelligence.
