Massimo Castagna is an Italian architect and designer with a career that bridges architecture, interiors, and product design in a way that feels both grounded and refined. A graduate of the Politecnico di Milano, he launched his studio, AD Architecture, in 1986 and has since developed projects that emphasize material honesty, spatial clarity, and a hands-on approach to making. His work avoids trends in favor of a tactile language—where stone, wood, metal, and glass are experienced through the senses rather than filtered through concepts. Castagna has collaborated with some of Italy’s most respected design companies, including Henge, Minotti, Gallotti & Radice, and Giorgetti, and his work has been exhibited at the Triennale di Milano, MoMA, and the Saatchi Gallery. At its core, his practice is about finding a precise balance between form, technique, and the physical presence of materials.
