Marc Venot didn’t start out in design—in fact, his early studies in maths and physics at Jussieu University in Paris gave him a structured way of thinking that still shapes his work today. He went on to study industrial design at ENSCI–Les Ateliers, one of France’s leading design schools, where he began translating that analytical mindset into objects with purpose and clarity. After several years designing for major luxury brands like Hermès, Cartier, and Givenchy, he opened his own studio in 2011. Since then, he’s worked across a wide range of categories—furniture, lighting, accessories—collaborating with international names like Normann Copenhagen, Ligne Roset, Thonet, and Lexon. What ties it all together is a clear logic, softened by material sensitivity and a quiet sense of play. Venot’s work often feels effortless, but there’s always deep thinking behind the form.
