Barcelona-based Lievore Altherr Molina (LAM) has spent more than three decades proving that good design can feel both effortless and rigorously engineered. Formed in 1991 by Alberto Lievore, Jeannette Altherr and Manel Molina, the studio works across product development, brand consultancy and art direction, pairing calm geometries with quiet technical invention. Chairs for Arper, tables for Andreu World, lighting families for Foscarini, modular sofas for Tacchini—the typologies change, yet the method stays constant. Each project begins with close observation of how people sit, gather or move, followed by hand sketches and full-scale mock-ups that test comfort, proportion and material finish. The goal is to make an object that feels immediately welcoming and remains relevant years later. LAM’s holistic approach extends to visual strategy: catalogue photography, showroom layouts and colour palettes are shaped alongside the products so every element speaks the same language. Recognition includes Spain’s National Design Award and multiple Red Dot and Best of NeoCon prizes, yet the partners still consider workshop dialogue with craftsmen and manufacturers their most reliable measure of success.
