Lagranja Design

Lagranja Design is a Barcelona-based multidisciplinary studio founded in 2002 by Gerard Sanmartí and Gabriele Schiavon, who met while working at Fabrica, the Benetton Group’s creative research center. Named after the small street in Barcelona’s Gràcia neighborhood where the studio began, Lagranja works across industrial design, interiors, exhibitions, and residential and hospitality projects. Its work starts with how people interact with objects and spaces, supported by a hands-on approach to materials and production. Rather than applying the same visual language to every commission, the studio develops each project according to its context and purpose. Notable works include the Uto lamp for Foscarini, the award-winning Key bicycle rack for Urbidermis, and the Belloch chair for Santa & Cole. Alongside their studio practice, Sanmartí and Schiavon have also taught at design schools in Barcelona, Venice, and Utrecht.
