Born in 1977 in Okinawa, Japan, Kensaku Oshiro moved to Italy to study design. In 1999, he graduated with a Master’s degree in industrial design from the Scuola Politecnica di Design in Milan. After working with various design studios, he joined Lissoni Associati and then the London-based BarberOsgerby. In 2015, Kensaku Oshiro established his own design studio in Milan. Minimalist and often sculptural, the designer’s work also features bold elements and striking contrasts. He has created furniture for well-known brands, including Glas Italia, Gandia Blasco, and Ligne Roset, among others. Kensaku Oshiro’s work has received many awards, including the Red Dot Award and the iF Design Award.
