Isabel Ahm designs furniture with a close eye on how people actually live. A graduate of the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts in 2007, she has spent more than a decade running her own studio, where she studies everyday life—how we eat, sleep, gather, and move through our spaces. Her designs grow directly out of these observations, aiming to solve real needs with simple, thoughtful pieces. Her first project for FDB Møbler, the Astrup dining table with Dutch pull-out leaves, reflects this approach: practical, flexible, and made for homes that shift with daily life. Along the way, Ahm’s work has earned awards and broader recognition, including her appearance on Denmark’s Next Classic on DR1, where her focus on real-world function stood out clearly.
