Award-winning designer Harry Allen was born in New Jersey. He studied at the prestigious Pratt Institute in Brooklyn, New York, where he received a Master’s Degree in Industrial Design. The designer opened his own studio in 1993. Harry Allen Design completes product design, interior design, and consultancy projects for a range of clients, including Ikea, Umbra, Warner Brothers, and MAC, among many others. While the projects range from furniture and lighting design to interiors, they share the same blend of innovation, creative flair, and ingenious functionality. The designer’s work has received many awards, including the Modernism/Young Designer Award from the Brooklyn Museum of Art and two Industrial Design Society of America IDEA Awards. Harry Allen’s work is part of the permanent collection of MoMA, the Brooklyn Museum of Art, and the Denver Museum of Art.
