Transitioning from a unique background in the Swedish film sector, Gunilla made a deliberate choice to immerse herself in the design world by attending Konstfack in Stockholm. Her skills were further honed during an academic visit to Copenhagen's Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts School. This formative experience paved the way for her partnership with Lammhults, where she became their inaugural female designer. Notably, her Cinema easy chair—inspired by the retro allure of classic sports cars—has become a hallmark of her design language. The George Jensen prize awarded to her in 1996 articulates her design philosophy best: "strict, minimalistic and elegant design." Over a three-decade collaboration with Lammhults and additional ventures into various design disciplines, Gunilla has solidified her position as a cornerstone of contemporary Scandinavian design.
