Elisa Padrón grew up in the Canary Islands and now keeps her floor loom humming in a light-filled Barcelona studio. Fifteen years in the field—stints in France, India, and back home in Spain for names like Decathlon and Nanimarquina—taught her what yarn can (and can’t) do. In 2021 she set up on her own to test those lessons at full scale. Most ideas start with a handful of wool, linen, or jute and a quick sample weave. Lines stay clean—stripes, color blocks, subtle shifts—so the texture carries the story. When a sample feels right under bare feet, she’ll push it into a full rug or wall piece. Padrón also steers creative direction at Cotlin RAW, turning her loom experiments into small-batch collections woven by specialist workshops. Her goal is simple: make textiles that earn their place for years, not seasons. Evenings often end with her re-warping the loom, chasing the exact shed she wants before the day is done.
