Che-Wei Wang and Taylor Levy

Che-Wei Wang and Taylor Levy are the founders of CW&T, a Brooklyn-based art and design practice established in 2009. The two met at NYU’s Interactive Telecommunications Program and draw on backgrounds in architecture, film, computer science, engineering, and fabrication. Their work moves between objects, electronics, software, and installations, with each project developed through sketching, coding, prototyping, machining, and repeated testing in their own studio and workshop. CW&T often revisits familiar tools and daily routines, especially the ways people write, work, measure, and experience time. The studio’s output ranges from writing instruments and clocks to open-source hardware and experimental devices, all made for long-term use. Wang and Levy also teach and host public office hours, sharing their working methods with a wider creative community. In 2022, CW&T received the Cooper Hewitt National Design Award for Product Design.
