Carsten Gollnick

Designer

Carsten Gollnick is a German industrial designer whose work moves between tableware, furniture, lighting, home accessories, interiors, and objects for the hospitality world. Born in Berlin in 1966, he studied Industrial Design at the School of Fine Arts in Braunschweig and founded his Potsdam-based studio in 1997. Gollnick’s practice is centered on what he describes as object culture: the idea that everyday objects can carry memory, material character, and emotional value through the way they are made and used. His designs often begin with simple forms, but they are shaped by a close attention to proportion, surface, weight, and the small rituals of daily life. Over the years, his studio has created more than 100 products for international brands, with work ranging from porcelain and stoneware collections to furniture, lighting, and leather accessories. His collaborations include Costa Nova, Conmoto, Walter Knoll, Zwiesel/Fortessa, BHS tabletop, and Blomus.
