Born in 1974, Korean designer Aamu Song Korean studied design at the Seoul National University before moving to Finland to continue her postgraduate studies at the University of Art and Design Helsinki. There, she met Finnish designer Johan Olin, who was studying graphic design and spatial design. They established their own studio, COMPANY, in 2000. n 2010, the duo opened the Salakauppa shop. Based in Helsinki, the two designers collaborate on an array of projects that range from furniture and product design to art, drawing inspiration from Korean, Finnish and international design. COMPANY has worked with many renowned brands, including Nikari, Droog Design, Kvadrat, and Artek, among others. The designers’ work has received many awards, including the Art Council of Finland’s State Prize for Design in 2010 and the Helsinki Design Award in 2018.
