Patricia Urquiola’s Alder Collection strips furniture down to shape, color, and conscience. Each piece—a stacking three-leg stool, a square lounge table, and an oval coffee table—is cast from Matek®, Mater’s stone-like composite made of recycled plant fibers and natural binders. The material’s subtle flecks read like mineral grain while remaining fully biodegradable at the end of a long indoor life.

Urquiola keeps the geometry calm: tapered legs, gentle chamfers, no visible hardware, nothing that competes with the quiet texture of Biodegradable Sand, Earth Grey, Clay, Moss, or Charcoal.
