Description

The CENTO3 project originated from a previously undisclosed collaboration dating back to 2001 between Achille Castiglioni and architect Gianfranco Cavaglià, focusing on writing instruments. The design, characterized by a trilobate shape, proved too intricate for production techniques available at the time and was shelved. Each CENTO3 instrument undergoes 3D printing using an exceptionally durable, sustainable, and lightweight Graphene/PLA filament. The additive manufacturing process imparts a subtle nonslip texture to the surface, rendering each piece a distinctive artifact, as every instrument is individually printed. Additionally, the ergonomic trilobate shape ensures that CENTO3 remains stable and prevents it from rolling off the table.

Achille Castiglioni

Achille Castiglioni concluded his studies at the Politecnico di Milano in 1944. From there, he embarked on a career in design and architecture at his brothers Livio and Pier Giacomo's studio, situated in Piazza Castello, Milan.
