Sasawashi started with a simple question: how good can everyday fabric feel when nature does most of the work? Rooted in Osaka, the company spins traditional Washi paper together with finely milled Kumazasa leaves, creating a yarn that’s light, lint-free, and naturally antibacterial—no chemical finishes, no gimmicks. The resulting textiles absorb twice as much water as cotton, dry fast, and block 98 % of UV rays, yet stay soft enough for sensitive skin.

Everything—from socks and towels to hats and room shoes—is woven or knitted in Japan on small-batch looms, then machine-wash tested to last. Even the production offcuts are recycled back into the process. In short, Sasawashi turns two ordinary materials into quietly remarkable essentials you’ll reach for every day and keep for years.
