Oya Seisakusho was established in 1928 in Tokyo as a copper pot shop, taking the name of “Oya Seisakusho” when it reopened after WWII, in 1949. Since 1981, the company has been located in the Saitama Prefecture. A family-run business, Oya Seisakusho produces copper kitchen tools using traditional methods that date back to the Edo period. The brand’s traditional Japanese graters are made from coated copper plates and feature extra sharp teeth that slice thinly to keep in moisture in food and condiments. Every product from the company’s collection is manufactured by hand in Japan by master craftspeople.
