The Oigen foundry, nestled in a region with a proud legacy of crafting Nambu ironware for nearly a millennium, stands as a testament to timeless craftsmanship. Using a meticulous casting process with fine-grain sand, Oigen produces ironware renowned for its exceptional smoothness, durability, and flawless surface. One notable collaboration that emerged from this venerable foundry is the Palma collection, a remarkable union between Japan Creative, a nonprofit organization, and the globally acclaimed designer, Jasper Morrison. In a show of solidarity and resilience, Morrison was invited to collaborate with the Oigen foundry, situated in Iwate, just north of the area affected by the devastating tsunami of 2011.
