Michiko Shimada is a Brooklyn-based product designer. Working primarily with hand-crafted ceramics, Shimada developed her interest in ceramics after moving from Japan to New York City to attend Parsons School of Design. Her work takes everyday objects and adds a touch of whimsy, from twig-shaped spoons to strawberry salt-and-pepper shakers.
