M D C is a Mexico City studio dedicated to concrete—designing and hand-casting furniture, objects, and architectural elements. Founded in 2014 by a small group of architecture students, the practice pairs material research with on-site making: tuning mixes and pigments, building custom molds, then pouring, demolding, grinding, and sealing until the piece reads clean and works hard.

Projects move between domestic scale and the city—tables, sinks, planters, and lighting, but also screens, lattice blocks, and façades. Because every cast is made by hand, small air pockets, tone shifts, and edge variations are expected and embraced; the studio treats ageing as part of the story. Clients get clear guidance on finishes and use—polished, exposed aggregate, or rustic; darker, textured surfaces that hide wear; sealed basins that will patinate over time; exterior pieces detailed for movement and temperature swings.

Working with local suppliers and collaborating with other Mexican designers, M C D keeps production in CDMX and treats each run as research—pushing a familiar material into precise, durable everyday use.
