Le Klint was founded in 1943 by Tage Klint, but the story of the company started much earlier. In 1900, Tage’s father, respected architect Peder Vilhelm Jensen-Klint, created what would become the first Le Klint lamp by designing an origami-inspired folded paper shade for a stoneware petroleum lamp. Years later, the family-run company started producing innovative lighting under the guidance of P.V. Jensen-Klint’s other son, the renowned Kaare Klint, also known as the father of the Danish Modern movement. Today, Le Klint maintains its status as a leading lighting brand, collaborating with world-famous designers to create cutting-edge products that celebrate the elegant minimalism and functionality of Danish design.
