Heymat is a Norwegian outdoor and indoor mat brand founded by husband and wife Thoralf Lian and Sonja Djønne. The name is a play on the expression “heimatt”, which means to return home. To design the brand’s mat collection, the duo took inspiration from two main areas of their lives. On one side, their own experience of living in a house with children in the wet and windy northern Norway. On the other, their family business of cleaning industrial mats. Collaborating with talented designers, Heymat launched its first collection in 2016. Blending high-quality, recycled materials with high-end Scandinavian design, all Heymat products are designed to look gorgeous and stand up to the test of time.
