Graypants was founded in 2007 in Seattle by two architects who wanted to expand their creative pursuits to product design and art installations. The first collection launched by the company, the successful Scraplights lamp and pendant series made from recycled cardboard, perfectly illustrated the studio’s passion for responsible design, materials and production. In 2012, Graypants opened its second studio in Amsterdam. Graypants received the AIA Seattle’s Award of Honor in 2013 for their debut architecture project, Garage. Currently, the studio continues to expand upon a varied portfolio that includes lighting, furniture and product design as well as architectural installations and public artworks.
