Berti knives are made in Scarperia, a Tuscan knife-making town north of Florence, where the Berti family has been producing cutlery since 1895. The workshop still follows an old-school approach: one artisan takes a knife from start to finish—grinding, fitting the handle, finishing, sharpening—so the result feels consistent and personal, not factory-random. The designs lean classic Italian (kitchen, steak, and table knives), with handles in warm woods and traditional materials alongside modern options, all meant to be used hard and often. For everyday performance, Berti uses an inox AISI 420 steel formulated for “normal” daily kitchen and table use, then finishes and sharpens each piece in-house.
