Description
Designed by British industrial designer Sir Kenneth Grange for Anglepoise, the Type 80 Pendant is a compact ceiling light that directs illumination onto the surface below. Its 5.7-inch conical shade works well above dining tables, kitchen islands, counters, and smaller work areas. Install one as a focused light or arrange several in a row over a longer surface.
The four aluminum versions feature the Type 80 collection’s defining halo light-escape. A circular opening between the upper collar and the shade allows a band of light to wash across the outside of the cone, adding a softer secondary glow while the open underside continues to provide direct downward illumination. Matte Black creates the strongest graphic contrast. Grey Mist and Pale Putty offer softer neutral finishes, while Pistachio Green introduces muted color.
The Matte Black / Opal Glass variation changes both the material and the lighting effect. Its opal glass shade glows across the surface, producing more diffuse ambient illumination while still allowing useful light through the bottom. Choose this version when a softer overall glow is preferred to the more defined halo of the aluminum shade.
Each pendant includes a replaceable warm-white E26 LED bulb, a 59-inch PVC cable, ceiling rose, and color-matched US junction-box mounting plate. The fixture is cUL certified and rated IP20 for dry indoor locations. The supplied bulb is non-dimmable. Dimming requires compatible electrical hardware and a suitable dimmable E26 LED bulb, with a maximum permitted rating of 10W LED.
