Description
The name “Paheko” derives from the Maori language and translates to “combination.” This concept of combination is reflected in the design of the Paheko object, which features essential yet non-simplified volumes that evoke familiar shapes such as vases, columns, and capitals. The beauty of Paheko lies in its versatility and open-ended functionality. Its purpose is not clearly defined, allowing it to suggest different uses that can be reinterpreted based on specific needs and contexts. For instance, placing a book on it near a bed transforms it into a nightstand, while using it to hold a cocktail by a pool turns it into an outdoor table. Inside a house or a bathroom, it can serve as a stool, and in a restaurant or café, it can be utilized as a bag holder.
The shape of Paheko is adaptable and blends harmoniously with its surroundings, assuming various roles depending on the setting. The design of Paheko combines elements from different eras and styles. It fuses the neoclassical aesthetic of the 1980s with the minimalist design principles of the 21st century, resulting in a coordinated harmony of volumes that transcends trends. It invites experimentation and reinvention, with its reversible design allowing for changes in orientation. The joint ring, available in five colors, adds a touch of customization and enables up to thirty different combinations. Constructed from lightweight yet highly durable white or black polypropylene, Paheko is suitable for both indoor and outdoor use. Its material ensures its adaptability and resilience in various environments. In essence, Paheko is a multifunctional object that can be employed in almost every way imaginable, limited only by one’s imagination and needs.
