Hourglass Pot – Aluminum

Davide Carbone — Wed, 11 Mar 2026 09:02:47 +0000

Outdoor aluminum planters can feel either too utilitarian or too decorative. The Hourglass Pot lands in a nicer middle: a generous vessel balanced on a widened base, with a clean silhouette that looks good on a terrace, a stoop, or right by the back door.

It’s reversible, so you can flip it to change the planting depth—deeper for roots that want room, shallower for tighter arrangements. The brushed aluminium finish stays crisp in daylight, and it’s made for outdoor use with a drainage hole and a rubber cap, so you can control runoff depending on where it’s placed.

Hourglass Pot – Rust

Davide Carbone — Tue, 10 Mar 2026 20:35:20 +0000

Hourglass is a planter with an old-foundry feel and a very modern trick: you can flip it. One side gives you a deeper vessel for roots that like room; turn it over and you get a shallower profile that suits smaller plants or tighter compositions. Either way, the form stays the same—wide mouth, narrowed waist, and that grounded base that makes it look good on a terrace even before anything is planted.

It’s made from iron with a rust-like patina and treated for outdoor use. There’s a drainage hole with a rubber cap, so you can control runoff depending on where it’s sitting. Outside, the surface will continue to shift naturally with weather; in freezing conditions, it’s best brought indoors. An inner pot is recommended.
