That’s the P9. The frame is real, FSC-certified oak—no painted pine or plastic here—and the seat is the same hand-woven paper cord you find on its adult relatives, only lower to the ground and friendly to swinging feet. Kids can climb on without help, settle in for a drawing marathon, then drag it across the floor to build a fort; the chair takes the knocks and stays steady.

It was meant to team up with the matching P10 table, but it holds its own beside a small bookcase or under a loft bed. And when the floor needs clearing for race-car tracks, two or three P9s stack quickly in a corner. Grown-up craftsmanship, kid-sized independence—that’s the idea.

C64 Shaker https://shop.gessato.com/c64-shaker/ https://shop.gessato.com/c64-shaker/#respond Tue, 13 May 2025 18:29:25 +0000 https://shop.gessato.com/?post_type=product&p=147849 Børge Mogensen drew this shaker style dining room table in 1950 for FDB Møbler, but it never made it to production. The reason? Its cross-leg structure was too ambitious for the tools of the time. Decades later, the design finally sees the light—clean, restrained, and quietly confident. The solid oak top has soft, rounded corners. The frame tucks in neatly, leaving space for legs and movement. It’s practical. It’s understated. And like much of Mogensen’s work, it feels like it’s always been there.

J52G Danish Rocking Chair https://shop.gessato.com/j52g-danish-rocking-chair/ https://shop.gessato.com/j52g-danish-rocking-chair/#respond Tue, 06 May 2025 11:00:57 +0000 https://shop.gessato.com/?post_type=product&p=147282 Designed in the 1950s by Børge Mogensen, the J52G brings motion and ease to one of Denmark’s most iconic seating designs. This Danish rocking chair adds curved rockers to Mogensen’s celebrated J52 spindle-back form, resulting in a piece that invites rest, reflection, and everyday use.

The silhouette is unmistakably Scandinavian—clean lines, refined details, and honest materials—yet softened by its gentle rocking movement. Originally inspired by the Windsor tradition and reimagined with Mogensen’s architectural simplicity, the J52G is suited to quiet corners, reading nooks, and spaces

Mounted on the wall, it offers a clear and accessible place to keep books, records, or everyday objects within reach. On its own, it’s a quiet, functional element; as a modular system, it adapts easily to growing collections and changing spaces. With its minimal form and thoughtful details, the B5 brings a piece of Danish design history into the present — and onto the wall.

J45 Chair https://shop.gessato.com/j45-chair/ https://shop.gessato.com/j45-chair/#respond Sun, 27 Apr 2025 17:45:37 +0000 https://shop.gessato.com/?post_type=product&p=146146 Designed by Børge Mogensen in 1950, the J45 Chair marks an early exploration of organic form and functional design. Departing from the stricter lines Mogensen later became known for, the chair features a softly curved backrest that leans and flexes slightly, offering a balance of support and comfort. Crafted in wood with subtle references to natural shapes, the J45 reflects a turning point in Danish modernism—where everyday furniture embraced both durability and sculptural presence. A thoughtful choice for contemporary dining spaces or collectors of mid-century design.

J18 Chair https://shop.gessato.com/j18-chair/ https://shop.gessato.com/j18-chair/#respond Sun, 27 Apr 2025 13:47:26 +0000 https://shop.gessato.com/?post_type=product&p=146102 Designed by Børge Mogensen in 1945, the J18 Chair captures the clarity and purpose of Nordic modernism. Influenced by eighteenth-century Windsor chairs, it strips the form down to its essentials: a solid wood frame, a generous curved back that flows into armrests, and a slightly reclined seat for everyday comfort. The open, functional design allows the J18 to slide easily under most tables, making it as practical as it is visually balanced. Available in several finishes, the chair adapts naturally to a wide range of interiors without losing the quiet strength of Mogensen’s original vision.
