Kumpu lands on the table like a slice of ancient terrain—twenty gentle hills rising across a dark, cast iron trivet large enough to cradle Dutch ovens and family-sized skillets. Studio Tolvanen began with the Finnish word for “mound,” then asked a third-generation foundry in Lyrestad to pour that idea in metal. Each piece is born from its own sand mould—hand-shaped, poured once, then broken so the next landscape can form from the same reclaimed grains.

Made of 95 % locally recycled iron, the disk is seasoned with organic vegetable oil until it gleams like well-loved cookware. Set a scalding pot on it straight from the stove; if the finish ever fades, brush on fresh oil and bake it back to life. Three cork pads keep the weighty surface steady and spare your tabletop. Heavy enough to feel permanent, spare enough to leave out between meals—Kumpu is Nordic geology tamed for everyday service, the cast iron trivet large that turns heat into a tabletop moment.

Eco-friendly design at its most ingenious, the Pidät STOP Doorstop opens the way toward a more sustainable home. Because even the smallest home accessories and everyday items should be as green as possible. Designed by Studio Gorm, STOP has a conical shape that wedges into the door at any angle. To craft this eco-friendly doorstop, Finnish brand Pidät collaborates with a shoe sole manufacturer. Each STOP doorstop is made from recycled shoe soles and comes with a 100% recycled plastic rope dyed in a water-free process. A reusable cotton bag is included with every doorstop. Printed with the product’s information, the cotton pouch replaces excess packaging and even a label to ensure a minimal carbon footprint.

Designed by Mika and Julie Tolvanen for their own brand Pidät, this bird feeder features a 100% recycled plastic build. The design draws inspiration from industrial grain silos. It features a removable conical top that protects the seeds from rainwater and also allows the user to easily fill the feeder with seeds. Small birds have access to several perching areas and they can cling vertically to eat. Made from recycled plastic that includes upcycled post-consumer plastic from water bottles and washing machine parts, every Bird Silo is one of a kind.
