Design duo Iskos Berlin created the floor lamp with a textile shade that not only filters the light beautifully, but also references traditional knitting techniques. Fine yet durable, the mesh fabric comes to life through CNC knitting, resulting in a 3D pattern with virtually zero waste. The spherical shade has a wonderful structure created by wrapping the textile over a steel frame. Above and below, powder-coated aluminum rings hold the two components together. The lightweight lamp features three slender legs that raise the light source higher to illuminate spaces at eye-level. Thanks to the knitted fabric shade, this floor lamp produces a soft ambient light. Iskos Berlin referenced traditional knitting techniques in the design, but this floor lamp comes to life thanks to cutting-edge manufacturing methods. The spherical shade is made with a CNC machine that creates the 3D knitted mesh fabric with great precision, eliminating waste. This technique also allows the creation of clean, perfectly shaped forms, letting the texture of the material shin through. Once the light is turned on, the Knit-Wit floor lamp transforms completely. The light bulb becomes visible, along with the intricate pattern of the finely knitted yarns. Designed with convenience in mind, the Made by Hand Knit-Wit Medium Floor Lamp 60 comes with a three-legged steel base and a foot switch on a fabric-covered cord.

The collection was created by Copenhagen-based design firm Iskos Berlin, who took inspiration from traditional knitting to infuse lighting with a rich materiality. Featuring a spherical form, the shade also boasts a symmetrical segmented pattern created by a steel frame. Covering the metal in a tight embrace, the mesh fabric has a fine texture that keeps the light bulb visible. Illuminated from within, the material reveals the yarn pattern in more detail, filtering the light at the same time. This version of the Knit-Wit floor lamp features a rounded black base and comes with a switch cord covered in a matching black fabric. The design pays homage to traditional knitting and to the beauty of simple geometric forms. Design studio Iskos Berlin used CNC-controlled knitting techniques to create the shade. Made from a fine polyester mesh fabric, the shade beautifully filters the light and gives a tactile feel to the design. The semi-transparent material helps to diffuse and soften the light while offering a view of the central light bulb. This Knit-Wit floor lamp has a rounded base finished in black. Compact and lightweight, the lamp is easy to move from one room to another, whether in a private or public space. This lamp is also available with a stand that elevates the shade. Nature, geometry, and traditional knitting provided the sources of inspiration for the Knit-Wit collection. Created by Copenhagen-based design practice Iskos Berlin for Danish brand Made by Hand, this lighting series offers a modern take on the art of hand-knitting. Like other products from the collection, the Made by Hand Knit-Wit Oval Pendant Lamp 76 features a semi-transparent mesh fabric manufactured with a CNC-controlled technique. The 3D knitted textile has a gorgeous tactility, giving warmth to the design. Turning the light on reveals the texture of the material in greater detail while also unveiling the light source at the center of the shade. This pendant lamp has an oval silhouette and the series’ signature steel frame that provides support to the stretched polyester fabric.
