ilan grew out of photographer Ilan Rubin’s habit of seeing order in whatever’s in front of him. That eye now shapes a line of magnet-driven household tools that feel purposeful without showing off.

Each design tackles a specific nuisance. A knife rack in FSC-certified walnut grips blades with hidden magnets, spacing them like a tidy still life. A paper-towel holder steadies the roll with a swivel arm that snaps into place. The Control Panel corrals keys and mail so mornings start smoother.

Materials are straight­forward—Baltic birch, powder-coated steel, recyclable magnets—cut and finished in small runs. Color appears only where it earns its keep: a block of saturated pigment on the Apple Box, equal parts studio staple and impromptu stool. Joints click together with satisfying precision, and every piece can be repaired or recycled down the line.

ilan sidesteps throwaway basics and over-styled décor, offering everyday objects that simply work—and make the space around them work better, too.
