Kishu Binchotan adsorbs chlorine from tap water (by up to 75%), softening it and improving its taste, whilst also adding minerals, such as potassium and magnesium.

A Chikutan is a stick of White Charcoal made from Japanese Bamboo (as opposed to Oak as with our Binchotan sticks). This is the highest grade of bamboo charcoal available with an extremely high carbon content. White Charcoal gets its unlikely name from the manufacturing process it goes through. Our Chikutan Sticks are organically produced and handcrafted using ancient craft traditions in Japan.
